Pokhara is a slice of heaven in the world. There are many interesting and beautiful places to visit in Nepal, outside the Kathmandu Valley. Pokhara is one of the most picturesque and exciting valleys in the entire Nepal. Pokhara valley is known as the ‘Jewel of the Midwest’and is the second major tourist spot in Nepal.  It is connected by air and by the road from Kathmandu and Indian border Sunauli. Pokhara lies two hundred kilometers west of the Kathmandu 6 hours by car and twenty-five minutes by air. It is well-known for its lakes and its position underneath the towering Annapurna massif. It is greatly recommended to visit this picturesque valley, stay in the tiny hotels with the view of the glorious Himalayan peaks, go boating in the peaceful waters of the Begnas and the Phewa lakes or go on day hikes or tours in the nearby peaks or if the time badges, on a well-prepared trekking break.

Further twelve km east of the Pokhara, at the end of the road that turns north from the highway to Kathmandu, is the Begnas Lake presenting the flawless nature haven because of its comparative seclusion. This city is commonly known as “City of Tourism” is unconditionally free from any kind of pollution. Pokhara valley is positioned at an elevation of 827 meters from the sea level. It is one of the most picturesque places of Nepal.

Pokhara sits tall on the list of ‘must visit’ places in Nepal. Tourists on prolonged breaks in Nepal make manifold visits to this famed valley of the three lakes. The tourist district of Pokhara well known as ‘Lakeside Pokhara’ is fairly noticeably detached from Pokhara city. Lakeside stretches alongside Phewa Lake and is evocative of Thamel except for the sufficient space and infinitesimal traffic which makes Pokhara so much more pleasing and stress-free than its equal in Kathmandu. The delightful Pokhara valley with the ruling existence of Mt. Machhapuchhare in the background is the entrance to the Annapurna area where many an explorer finds their Shangri-la.
